What it means
A tag used when the position requires an underpromotion for tactical reasons. Often the underpromotion is done to avoid stalemate, but other reasons are possible, such as providing a check or checkmate from a knight that a queen promotion was not able to deliver (perhaps as a fork). By far the most common tactical underpromotions will be to knight.
